I'm really struggling to get a good tone, and presets that sound good for others sounds like shit for me. Could anyone reamp my dry signal and see if they get the same results? I would be eternally grateful.. :p Here's the order of whats going on:
1. the dry signal
2. Killrbuckeye's rythm preset: http://www.killrbuckeye.com/Tones/KB_TheRisingRhythm.l6t
3. CSGuitar89's rythm preset: http://www.mediamere.com/fileadmin/Klanten/CSGuitar89.com/Tones/Rectumfrier.l6t
4. Killrbuckeye's rythm preset with the GuitarHack JJ edge impulse

The download button is on the far right!

I didn't use the presets. I processed it on my own.

Left guitar: TSE808-LeGion-LeCab with Kalthallen impulses
Right guitar: TSE808-X50-LeCab with Kalthallen impulses

It sounds thin to you?

For some reason none of LePou's AUs show up in Logic for me-.- but yeah.. Maybe they sound great in some mixes but it just doesn't have that big guitar sound I'm after.
Probably better than anything I have come up with, but it still sounds kind of scooped you know.. Like it's all mids or something. What did you use?

Would you mind trying some of the presets if you have podfarm? That was kind of the point of the thread (I was probably a little unclear :p). Just to make sure it's not my computer that makes the tones shitty.

I don't have podfarm, and just for the record, I put a lot of mids in that tone. Mids on both amps were up to about 3 o clock.

You can't judge the tone by how the amp was dialed. Realize that the IR has a much more pronounced effect on the amount and texture of the midrange than the amp or amp settings does. That clip you posted is quite devoid of mids. I would obviously blame the IR for this, or maybe you had some extreme EQing after the amp, but it wouldn't be the amp dialing.

There was no EQ after the amps at all. It must have been the Kalthallen cabs.

I'll post the tones and screens for two clips:

Tone 1: TSE 808, x50, Minotaur Modern IR, C4, EQ, Filter

Thanks man. I'm on a Mac so I can't use the first one damn. Could you try the Rectumfrier (lmao) preset and see if it sounds the same at your end?

There is no way that your computer is mysteriously making tones shitty. It either makes sound or it doesn't. If your tones are shit it's either something on the input side (guitar/playing/interface) or it's something you're doing in the mix (amp sim/post processing)

The term 'scooped' refers to a lack of mids, not too much.

Nah presets won't do a thing, the guy that did it maybe has diff gain staging, pickups, string action, tuning, technique...and pod farm is really tricky to react as it should with other's preset.

Also, ampsims, IMO are really dependant on the mix, if the bass, drums and all aren't making space for it, you end up with muddy guitars such as mine

Start with the basic treadplate if you wanna stay with PF, add the screamer and tweak from there. Also use less gain.

Your DI's are way better than mine, they're not the problem.
