Anyone have some good free ampsim settings that are a good start for thrash?

Im having real trouble setting up a decent amp tone.

Start with everything on 12' o clock, and adjust depending on what you want to hear. It sounds basic, but that is really all there is to it.

One thing I like to do though when working with impulses, is to add an EQ after the impulse and add a pretty big high shelf filter, to add alot of high end to the tone. I always feel my tones get way to dark without it, and it also helps with getting the most from your distorsion.

I like TSE X30 for thrash tones, I turn the input up to around 7, the gain down to 4, i leave the bass at 5, i turn both mids up to 6, and the treble up to 6/7. And I use Ryan's S-PresHigh impulse with these settings.

Then I add a high and low pass filter, i cut the bass at around 200HZ and treble at about 11000 KHZ.

I also like to add TSS in front of TSE X30, with the gain down to 1, and both the treble and level up to 9.

This might be some use to you, I don't know :D

The basic setup i use when practicing guitar is.
TSS: Gain 0-5(depending on what i want) tone(varies) level 10
LePou 456: everything in the middle on the gainiest channel with focus on and i think bright on
then SpresHigh

Works for a basic tone.
Although i've only used it once in a mix like that, it worked quite well.
But only for that one mix.

I use the 456 or the tsex30. As stated start around 12 oclocks and minor tweakage from there. Input half or so and output to max. I usually use lecab for the cabs and use spres high. The magic is in the eq it seems, HP/LP it, around 100 or so to 12-14k. Not in stone, but just a reference to get you going. You can find that bomb ass dist. tone outside of a mix, but when thrown in with bass and drums you have to change the gameplan a bit.
