Had a great time in Amsterdam. Upon arrival at Paradiso in early afternoon, was nice to see the 2 tour busses with Saxon logos on them....not only for piece of mind that Biff would be "fit" to perform, but also those busses looked pretty smart & gave an air of the band being "big" ;-)

Waited a few hours till doors opening & easily got to the front row. First band, "Mennen" (?) were on shortly. All credit to them for giving it there all to a room with only about 30 people in there!
"Masterplan" i knew the name but hadnt heard anything by them. Was very impressed.
By time Saxon were due, the place had filled up considerably. Even people in the top balcony.Thats a good sign in paradiso.
Lights down & the huge back drop was hoisted up. Or rather, it got so far & the middle support section "broke"! Both sides continued rising whilst the middle stuck. Crew frantically rushed around trying to fix it. Eventually it was up in all its glory lol
Biff saw the funny side & commented about their "Spinal Tap Moment"
The show was great. A very different set to Sheffield with more of a balance to "newer" songs than the (real old) classics. Was real pleased they did "Dallas 1pm" though as missed that at Sheffield.
Show went well & Biff seemed if fine voice....you'd never know he'd had a problem a few days earlier. Was very pleased that the sound guy got his act together this time & we could hear both guitars in a decent mix.
Paradiso crowd was great. Very vocal & there were even little mosh pits. (Told it looked very impressive from upstairs)
All in all, a great night out.

Tour merchandise was pretty good. There was a black (denim?) tour jacket which was superb value at 70Euros. Unsure if they only had one though as there were none left after the gig.
We visited the Irish "Arran" bar round the corner after the gig. Guess there must have been an aftershow as ,whilst there we saw all the Saxon guys & crew go to Hard rock cafe next door.

Roll on Rock City !
