AN ACTUAL COOKING THREAD

Restaurant wasabi is generally quite mild, but I bought a tube of genuine Japanese stuff at an Asian grocer's and holy fucking crap did that shit blow up my sinuses!

Looking real good Opeth

careful with the wasabi man, that stuff is spicy

Yeah, this stuff is straight burn. Kind of nice, but I'd like some nuance. To get your tongue on the same level you gotta dip the sushi in this after you apply the wasabi and soy sauce:

I bought a slow cooker about 10 years ago, never used it and gave it away. I bought another one about 6 months ago, used it once and probably never again. I wonder when I'll buy my third one and not use that.

Agreed. Dutch oven + cast iron skillet, all you need.

Some of my go to 'around the world' dishes --

lamb tagine (with belgian dubbel)
mole negro (non gringo version that takes hours)
chicken tikka masala
greek moussaka (usually with beef )
korean short ribs
lamb mafe (from senegal)

And assorted dishes that connect me to my goomba ancestry :suspicious:

Hungarian gulasch in progress as we speak

I Fooqin adore cast iron. Though I'm a snoot, and opt for that lovely enameled variety to make clean up a wee bit easier. Same heat conduction of daath, without having to whip out the ringer for a twenty minute scrub.

May cook up some pork chops this weekend. Going to flour these beauts, as a chop isnt a chop without a coat.

how do you like your popcorn?

I usually mix sweet with salty. How do you make it at home? I don't have a special device nor a microwave so i just cook it in a frying pan

i do normal-ass popcorn in a normal pot with a lid and just salt. maybe butter. sometimes this weird american cheese popcorn seasoning.

used to always be a microwave popcorn guy but making it in a pot ye olde fashioned way is just about as easy and yields better results so
