OK, so maybe not too evil.

I am on my 8th day of listening to nothing but the album, "Powerslave". So far, I can report:

Mental capacity: improving
Beer consumption: improving
Strength: Like 10 men
Gumption level: same
Love for all things Maiden: PEAKING!!!!!!!:headbang:

Feels like 1984 all over again. Christ, I really need to see Maiden this summer....:hotjump:

Anyway I am going to listen to this album for a month. I will keep you all posted, as to my condition....as events warrant.

When I got tickets to see Maiden on the Give me ed till im dead tour I listened to nothing but maiden for a month, but I listened to all of their albums and not just one. Cool shit man, hell I could listen to just Rime of the Ancient Mariner for a month, just thinking about that harmony section gives me a hardon

UP THE IRONS!!

Heh, that's great. What prompted you to demand such a task from yourself anyway?

? I really don't know. I just remembered the joy this album gave me when it 1st came out, and I was but a wee slip of a lad of 14 years.....
I think I am getting a little mental in my old age.....

"Scream for me Long Beach!"

Of my quest to only listen to "Powerslave" is just about over.....no ill effects, yet. Feeling fine. It's odd though, even when I am not listening to the album, all the songs are in my head, non-stop! Weird.:ill:

Day 11 coming up.

21 days to go!! YES!!! Maiden RULES!

My journey through these untraveled water continues unabated.

I want to ask of you all, a simple question. Does Maiden paint the best imagery of any band? Both musically & lyrically? For me, I am starting to think: yes. Allow me to explain.

Powerslave: When I hear this song, the music sounds Egyptian to me. What the hell is that about?

The trooper (I know this is not on Powerslave, but I am making a point): With Harris' galloping bass, and Nicko's drumming, it feels like you are on the horse! Again, I say: The hell!

Aces High: Again, listen to the staccato drums.....military cadence.....feels like I'm in a Spitfire......yeehahhha!

Run to The Hills: Unexplainably, I want to drink a pint of firewater, and run from the white man.....wait, that's me...who the hell am I?

Wasted Years: Whenever I hear this song, I think back to the old days. Now that's quality musicianship.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner: Listen to Harris' bass, in the "quiet" section, with the sound effects of creaking boards. Feels like I am out to sea......"water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink...."

OK.....back to Powerslave!

PS....That supposed "press release" by Anthrax is about the gayest thing I have heard of this day!

Keep it up man, your idea has spawned an idea for me, I am getting ready to see Priest this summer so I think I might just listen to my fave album by them for a full month, now I just got to decide between sad wings, stained class, killing machine, ahhhh fuck its too hard to pick.

THIS IS THE FUKN BEST THREAD IN AGES!!!!!!!!

Was actually speaking to my old guitar teacher last night about Maiden and old school Metal ... and we got talking about Powerslave in particular and I mentioned the egyptian influence in the some of the chords and stuff.... he actually stated that a lot of actual chords and tunes can be traced back to ancient Egpyt. I was like ...are you for real or just taking the piss?

Rime of the Ancient Mariner - classic song.
SINKS DOWN LIKE LEAD - INTO THE SEA.... THEN DOWN IN FALLS COMES THE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!! heeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaahahaha!

...and the moral of this story is not what to do if the bird shits on ya!
