I got this album just over 2 years ago, and it was only a couple weeks ago that this album really, finally clicked for me. For a while there I was really enjoying a few tracks from it but most of it I felt only lukewarm about... but I'm feeling a strong, growing appreciation for it as a complete piece of art.

That doesn't mean that Resonance isn't still an awesome song on its own, of course... that organ solo almost makes me wish I'd stuck with piano rather than picking up guitar.

I agree completely, I got it not so long ago and it's slowly growing on me. I always knew it was a good album but it takes quite a while to click.

of all the Borknagar albums Epic took most time to fully 'grow' on me. but indeed it's a true masterpiece. i'm also glad it's not rather short, like most other metal albums, or Origin.

It's the complete opposite from Quintessence, which I put on and immediately had a great big grin on my face. I loved that disc the moment I heard it!
