And chillin'.

I think it was a chill watch, although I didn't learn as much as I would have hoped. But I'll definitely tune in tomorrow again and watch the whole thing.

Tuning he said something about tuning to the part, like where you play and how hard you play.
When playing hard he seems to tune to the attack only.
Said you have to hit the string as hard as you're going to while recording.
(think most of us knew this but it's nice to hear anyway).

For melodyning/autotuning DI's he said he's doing that on single not thingies that go sharp or flat at the end. can't remember if he also tunes whole chords if they are off or if he said retrack.

Pretty cool. i saw about half. A lot of us who have been recording for a while have already figured out most of that stuff, but it's good to hear the reinforcement. One big thing was how similar a lot of the sims were. It really is about the impulse response. I'll try and get it again on the re-broadcast to see how he goes about editing. I tend to not edit guitars all that much, and favor re-tracking until something is tight enough.

he spent 10x the time talking about kemper and axe that about micing the actual amp...

He likes to use a 57 and a d6
he usually goes for the edge of the dustcap
