Andy - Amek pre with SM7

It seems that my last post went tits up so I'm going to try again.

Andy, have you tried your Amek with the SM7? If so how does it sound? I am looking to use this combination with a female singer but am unable to get hold of the pre to try out before the session (self financing/tight budget). Would you recommend any other preamps to use with the SM7?

it works, I'm sure other good pres would be just as good, its not the be all and end all.

Thanks, there are a few others I'm looking at but the Amek is one I know I can get from my preffered hire company.
