Andy Sneap/ Russ Russell video interviews

These general questions are ok, but they always damand general answers (like the first question on the second part, about the bass). I would love to see a very specific interview with Andy someday. I mean, something like play the first minute of "Rose Of Sharyn" and get step by step all the tracks from scratch.

These videos accompany a 13 page feature in this months Sound on Sound magazine about modern metal production written by Mark Mynett (ex Kill II This)

Thanks for posting Zeronaut! Really enjoyed the videos.
Didn't know Russel, but he seems to be a very cool and nice guy.
As well as Andy of course, but we all knew that, right? :)

It's just a matter of applying this general information to your specific situation. You can't really teach someone to be excellent at recording/mixing/etc. It's more like a craft, you need to practice and figure some stuff out as you go.

"Do you use spectrum analyzers much?"

"Nope."

"Do you use references mixes?"

"Nope."

I laughed my ass off at his responses...

generally the whole interview, Andy seems like, "I just make it sound good, man... get orf my land."

Hahahaha this killed me too. He pretty much just should of told the dude "If it sounds good I leave it, if it sounds bad I change it until it sounds good. See ya."
