Absolutely. I subscribe to SOS and expect more from them than those hack, rushed questions. He did even worse with Russell. He just kept cutting him off with a "yeah yeah" as if 4 words were good enough for an answer---you could see Russell started to just answer with 1 word after that on some things.
But Andy, you really did a great job actually-- considering the interviewer. I though the best thing was how people try copying a specific instrument without regard for the complete mix. Its really come to point that when I hear online mixes I know exactly what Im gonna hear. It sounds like pretending and there are so many of these mixes that I think many listeners have gotten used to these bad mixes to the point where they cant even discern whats good anymore.
My advice to them is to go mix some straight rock or even poprock and try and match the lush texture of those genres and then go back to your mixes and you'll hear how utterly obnoxious they are. Wahish tube screamer sounding midranges and highs that sound like pink noise is not a mix...its a bad impersonation of the real thing

Nice interviews! Would be great if Andy would some day film a whole session (even 1 song from his drawer will do) from micing to mastering.
I'd love to watch and learn (and pay) for that educational dvd if he ever were to make one. C'mon Andy??
