Andy:Using Compressin on gtrs while tracking?

Hi Andy and everybody! I've read so many articles about engineers using compression while they track gtrs while recording. I was wondering Andy, how do you decide whether to use compression? Thank you. Great forum!

I dont, only on vox usually whilst tracking. Gtrs I don't usually compress unless theres some low end that needs sorting out.
