Andy, what release time for L2 when mastering?

Just wonder what release time you prefer to use with the Waves L2 when mastering...or do you just enable the "ARC"-button?

Ok, but what about using the Waves L1, ever use ARC release time with that one?

Is it okay to use L2 in my console`s Master Post-effects? Or I'll have a rough time in the mastering process?

You have to use it as the very last component of your processing chain.

I just use the high res cd master preset with the threshold and ceiling adjusted according to the demands of the song. ARC does the job well enough for me.

the Automatic Release Control is your best bet but it works best to disengage it and set your release time close to what you want or rather to what the program material calls for, and then re-engage it.

also, be sure to set the ceiling to no higher than -0.3 if you want your CD's to play withought skips in older and cheaper players.

Good bit of advice there from james.

My friend Jonas told me that a decent visual rule of thumb is that the indicator shouldn't be peaking higher than roughly three or it'll pump and crackle.

Seems like good advice to my ears.
