Just finished up the mix/master for the first track from these chaps EP today, drums and guitars were tracked/edited at Oracle by Tempe and co, I tracked the bass and vocals and did all the re-amping, mix and master at mine.

I'm not 100% on the setup used for tracking drums, guitars were DI'd and tracked with a rough scratch tone and I went from there.

Borrowed a Diezel Herbert for re-amps which I must say is the first amp I have ever instantly been pleased with, pretty much impossible to get anything but an awesome tone out of it regardless of where the knobs are set. Also blended with my trusty old 6505, both run into an Engl Pro V30 cab with a 421/57 combo. Overdubs went through a Mesa Dual Rectifier through the same cab/mic setup.

Vocals were pretty simple, SM7 all the way.

We originally tracked the bass with the E tuned up to F in the same octave as guitar and it just wasn't doing it for me so we went and got monstrous strings and dropped my ESP 5 string down to low F to re-track, and I must say I'm extremely happy with the results!

Thanks to anyone taking the time to listen!

Ended up with 145, 130, 100, 80, 65. Would have preferred something like a 158 from circle K but can't find anything like that around here and time was of the essence. Held the tuning well enough ;)

This came out really cool! Well done Sam. I think it was definitely worth the thousands of hours it took to get those guitars in tune!
