another drum programming question?....

Does using a usb keyboard or trigger finger(or similar) help get your ideas down faster?

Right now I'm going to be using the Hyper Editor in Logic 8 which I'm starting to like more. And using the mouse to create beats.

Just wondering how helpful or necessary a keyboard or trigger finger would be to the process.

i have an M-Audio Trigger Finger and i find it very useful.
in a metal context, i might program the kicks and then use the trigger finger to tap in the snares and hi-hats / cymbals.
