Another guitar video (with HQ audio this time)

Dude sometimes I put the weather channel on and just play to that music they have in the background... Great for improvising.

Kewl stuff there Marcus! :kickass:
Reminds me of Dann Huff's style of playing.

And that Hear n' Aid is just absolutely orgasmic!
Like all my favorite musicians crammed in to one song!:lol:

Wow, all I can think when I watch that is.... VOCALS. The fact that they used to do that shit in near single takes with no tuning aid whatsoever.

Now you've got the goddamn screamo kids who can't even hold a single whiney, christ-raping note without needing the Cher treatment.

Also, (l) Malmsteen.

Cool video of your own by the way! I was never much into improvisation so my skills at it always sucked, even at the height of my playing.

I agree completely.. that is why im absolutely stuck in 80's metal these days.
Say what you want, but bands like Dokken where insanely tight musicians.

Its amazing how much work they put in to some of their songs as well.. Don Dokken apparently worked on the harmonies in "Dream Warriors" for 3 weeks straight(Just to get them EXACTLY as he wanted them.).
According to Neil Kernon, "mr. scary" consists of 17 guitar tracks.
Michael Wagner said in an interview that Lynch nailed all the solos on the first take 9/10 times.

Holy shit, I just looked on wikipedia, and he's the dude that did the "Here I go again" solo, right? If so, then fuck yeah dude, excellent call on the stylistic similarity  (though when I actually write a solo section for a song, I always make it far more structured, but similar vibe)

That's awesome to hear about Dokken and Lynch; can't say I'm really surprised though!

And Kev, yup, I'm a man of many talents

Actually, no, thats John Sykes who wrote that solo. ;)
Dann Huff played on the re-recording they did 92:

Check out 02:40 in this video(Its amazing!):

Your solo reminded me of a specific Dan Huff solo.. but i cant for the life of me remember what song it was! :erk:
And as he was one of the most popular session guitarists ~85-95, its really no use trying to find it.
But if it pops up il post it! ;)

I stand over the window, watching the street and play over people moves and faces, if two guys are talking, i do the voices with guitar, if one is a child or a lady i play one Octave higher, if a motorcycle pass, i play witht the floyd rose and stuff ;).

Nice playing little bastards!

I've been playing since 1991 and I still haven't got that skill on scales...I'm good ate rythms but suck at solos.
fuck the world! my fingers are kinda too short!!
If I have time I'll post a vid of me myself.

Sorry bro, but that's Adrian Vandenburg on the solo to that song (the original album version). ;) Sykes, who you know is one of my gods, played everything else on the album, except that one solo.

Damn, you and Marcus brought me out of hiding just to comment on this thread. lol Anyway, Marcus, some really nice stuff there. You know I'm a huge Journey/Schon fan. You just have to get a little chorus/delay going there to complete that 80's sound. :) Man, I forgot how much I love that album. Time to break it out!
