Sleepless Every Night is the fourth release from Spanish metal/hardcore band Another Kind Of Death and like their earlier offerings, continues very much in a similar kind of musical vein, that of relentless, eardrum destroying chaos! Although it would be relatively easy for some to place this band and this album into the metalcore/hardcore bracket without a second thought, I would have to disagree. Yes, like many metalcore bands they are heavy as fuck and yes, much of the vocals consists of unintelligible screaming (which, if you are not a fan of this type of music, will start to grate a little), but their influences shine through in this album and help to make it feel strangely very musically diverse. You can hear oddly distorted Korn-esque style riffs (especially in the song 'Carcrash') and track number three, 'Alcohol and Glitter', has a very Deftones type feel to it. The album also seems to draw on the grooves of bands such as Helmet and the crushing brutality of heavier groups, for example Entombed, which makes you enjoy Sleepless Every Night a little more each time you give it a listen, as there is always some new, different and hidden musical influence to discover.
