No, not the Arch Enemy album...couldn't actually find any in there, though maybe its to do with not being arsed to read the lyrics, and as i can hardly ever tell just from listening...but anyway, i digress. What are everyone's favourite anthems for revolution etc? it seems to be a them which crops up reasonably often in music

Gamma Ray - All of the Damned
Queensrÿche - Revolution calling

...damn, i had more, i swear...does Under a Serpent Sun by At The Gates count? anyway, if anyone else has any...:)

Another gamma ray meisterwork...

Gamma Ray - Dethrone Tyranny

Not exactly rebellion but definately revolution...
Queensryche is a good choice... big fan of that song in particular although i prefer the previous album on't whole...

Rebellion are a very good band. 'My Word Is War' & 'Iron Flames' etc, :headbang:

I agree with everything on this thread.

True no one rights better Anthems Of Rebellion then the mighty rays. Another mightier Gamma Ray classic be 'The Saviour'

True also is Revolution Calling a classic but Rage For Oder is far stronger.

Eagle you speak many a wise word in this hear thread... Rage For Order is one of my all time faves... and Blind Guardian cite it as one of their biggest influences...

Kreator - Violent Revolution

They've played it the last two years at Bloodstock.

Where the fuck was I dammit? I remember singing along to Toxic Waltz last year.

Werent they playing some Papa Roach/Father Woodlouse/Daddy Headlice/Whatever at '02 though? I'm sure I heard it being played. *ponders*

Anyway, on topic :- Gamma Ray - Rebellion in Dreamland :)

You think so? I mean, it's a great album, but I always felt that the best track was "Gonna get close to you", which is a Dal Bello cover anyway. IMHO, it certainly doesn't approach the awesomeness that is Mindcrime. But then, that's probably in my list of best albums of all time anyway, so that's not surprising...

I dunno what it is but Rage... hit me more instantly although they both classify as classics... its probably just me and my wierd opinion...

don't actually own rage for order, but i've got live evolution so i know a few of the songs...guess i just like Mindcrime for the whole concept/songs running into each other thing...i started off on pink floyd, wat can i say?:p

I'm not big into revolution, ORDER ORDER ORDER! is my ORDER of the day!
Still, No World Order would be a whole album good for the thing, and Operation Mindcrime has a similar theme as do many Kreator songs so good suggestions I suppose.

I remember when they played The Hunter at 03 me, Jonoleth and the rest of our little group were almost as happy as if we'd seen Iced Earth live. Good vibes in general that day!

Looked round both times to see if anyone else was singing along, not a single person apart from guys I was with. YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED! :p"

There (don't know how to officially quote)

Demons & Wizards - Tear Down The Wall

I havent even read the lyrics to this song.. im just guessing by the title that it may be an anthem of rebellion... Good song never the less...
