Who else has this Russian MP3 CD.
It has every CD of Kat. and OT on it
and a live 2001 gig. Plus pics and
album covers,words,ect.
curious, mc

I have most of their CD's. There are two that I can't get
ahold of. Everything here is in chronological order with
the album covers and words. It just seemed for 20 bucks
much easier to just buy and have everything right there
for your listening pleasure. It will never replace the
great sounding CD's I already have, but having it all on the computer makes it easy to mess with. (just one disc)

It is an MP3 format. Some DVD players can play this, but I
don't think it will play on the normal CD players. I will try
later today and get back to you!

oh, so for the person who said:

''Explain to me how you put about 100 files in 192 kb on a normal 80 min CDR?!'' (looking up and pasting i see its Falling Bird...)

when you write the cd-r you write it in 'Data' mode rather than 'audio', what that basicaly means is you can put 100's of mp3's on, but you cant play it in most cd players, well all i think other than those special mp3 cd players...

on the note of mp3's has anyone got Quiet World to share? or better still can the release of Brave Yesterdays be hurried, or has the idea been scrapped?

Do the math... Your average 192 kbps MP3 file is around 5-7 Mbytes. 5 * 100 = 500. An 80 minute CD-R holds 700 Mbytes.

Mathematically yes but it still doesn't work, believe me.
Because what's important for the program is the time and you can't burn more than 80 minutes of music even though it says 700 MB.
I don't know which program you use for burning but i use Nero and i swear i can't burn more than about 16 songs in normal length on a 80 min CDR.

@_Transparent_:Thanks for the explanation, i didn't think about the mp3 player ;)

Well, I have burnt two copies of this Anthology so far using
Nero, and it works perfectly! But I'm a cumputer Illiterate
and mabey even a little ugly on the side!
I don't know how it is done and really I don't need to know
how, just that the technology exists. They are close
to -Time Travel- technology too! Can't wait! There are
a few things I need to go back and correct in my life, and
most of them happened yesterday!

in ordinary raw mode, iso 9660 burning (using nero, adaptech, veritas etc..) anyone can fit in 700 mb of data..
since mp3 is infact data, NOT audio, you can fit in all those albums without a problem.

16 normal length songs should make you have about 600 mb of data left to write..
in audio on the other hand (burning a ordinary audio cd, playable everywhere..) you can fit in only about 16 songs... since that makes 80 minutes....

What Hobo said...
Realize this is an MP3 CD, _NOT_ an Audio CD, and thus the data size, 700 Mbytes, applies, not the audio length.
