I just got my ticket to see them do a warm up show at the Glasgow Barrolands, and to be honest I just dont know. I first saw Anthrax on the "Among The Living Tour" then on the "State Of E4EAHH Tour" and the "P.O.T" tour with Maiden and they "were"...yes "were" great. Then Joey left I got pissed off, very pissed off, who was this new guy John Bush. But man when I got hold of Sound Of White Noise and then saw them in Glasgow with him on the mic it was like oh my fuckin god, they thrashed it up man. Then it went all funny, tours got smaller as in Venue sizes albums took longer, but they still were tight, Stomp, Volume 8 and finally Weve Come For You All.
They have played so much in the past year or so over here. I mean I saw them when they supported Motorhead and to me they blew Motorhead clean out the room. Several tours later they drop "Music Of Mass" and the "Greatest" and it was just like the icing on the cake and NOW THIS. To me it stings, there is nothing on the bands web site as to what is happening to Rob or John, NOTHING. I mean come on even Maiden put stuff up about Blaze. John has given 12 years to this band and not a mention on the site. They shut the web site for a month and then BANG its all change. New, or should i say old Anthrax.
I have spoken to folks who have talked to Rob, and even he dont know whats going on. Some family huh. Its good to see them doing stuff but why go back to the past, the past is the past. Or is it more simpler than that, is it down to the fact that they are seemingly getting a very large amount of money per show from a certain Mrs Osborne.?? Hummmmm. Who knows apart from Scott and Charlie.........Anthrax I will always love you but right now the milk has just gone sour. In the immortal words of John Lydon......"ever get the feeling you've been cheated".
