The problem might be with Windows cause it says this copy of Windows is not genuine. We gave it to a guy to repair it last time it crashed and he must have installed a bootleg windows.

Bootleg window installs usually wont cause a crash on its own, because the verson you are running is a good copy, the thing that makes it a pirated copy is the cd key that was used to register it with M$. The only differences that between a legit install and yours is
1. you prob get the annoying "your version of windows may not be genuine" message at startup, and shut down
2. You cant update windows via autimatic update

Well considering you are using a non legit version that narrows your options, try installing firefox or buy a legit cd
