Anthrax remasters (???) question...

oye, Steve in Alaska here (though none of ya prolly know me)


I'll keep this "longer story short"...but I've been waiting for 'thrax to remaster 'Spreading The Disease' thru the B-sides cd (or at least POT), and I found 2 things on towerrecords.com (remember, I live in Alaska, so don't hold my feet to the fire):

---FOM/AAD are being re-released on Megaforce on 2/22, with a DIFFERENT cover than the two-fer that's already out there.

---all the Island releases have an '05 release date (1/25/05).


I wanna make my own homemade 'thrax comp (6-7 cds), and I hate the volume variations on the early masters, so, has anyone heard about these/can anyone shed some light in a poor Alaskan's direction???

my guess is that Tower updated their site as far as the Island releases go, but the new two-fer has my curiosity piqued.

FOM/AAD has been re-releases as a 2 CD Set with 1 different cover thats blue and has to prints of the original covers on it. check it out in the blabbermouth thread Justin has put in a picture of it. But both a no REMASTERS! thats just the original cds put together. ists out on Megaforce/SPV. Its value for money. In germany its sold for 11 Euro whats about 13 US$.

I never heard of 2005 re-releases, and I am sure they are not remastered. Perhaps it is just a new print of old stuff, like when the ols stuff went out.

But I will check

looks new perhaps the same thing like SPV did for europe put both together and now megaforce is doing it for the us market. i will check and let you know

Yeah, but it plainly states the original release date of the material and is announcing this "new" compilation of the two-in-one deal. However, a new cover may be b/c the others are gone???? Or just ordinary sales tactics.

I'd really like for them to remaster the Island releases (they sound so thin), perhaps this "re-reunion" will cause them to do just that.


great music, but it sounds so "thin" next to the Bush-era material.
