I'm sure this is old news, but Anthrax sucks horribly. I knew they weren't the band of old, but I expected so much more. Played mostly new stuff. John Bush is a horrible singer for this band.... They're so boring and the drumming, I never realized how awful it was. Pot and pan beater all the way. Add to that terrible sound, all drums, and barely audible guitars. Some of their newer stuff is clearly numetal, barfff..and the rest is boring slow 3 chord rock. HellI take that back, it's about 1 chord. The old stuff they played wasn't really great selections... Time (well that was cool), Belly of the Beast, Be all End all (what a queer song! "life can be a real ball"!! ooo weeeee), Antisocial (borrriinng).
They did do Indians, caught in a mosh, NFL, and metal thrashing mad. But sound was so bad those great songs were barely enjoyable. I wonder if the meaning in the song Indians is still the same since they FIRED the Indian from the band! hahaha. To me anthrax is belladonna era. And Spitz is gone too. Then Bush made a big deal about fighting for FREEDOM in Iraq and Afganistan (thought I was listening to fckin' george bush)...BURP...buncha republican corn. Then going on about how "TRUE METAL" the crowd was...(when 99% of
these meathead I've never seen at any metal shows. BURP. Avoid at all costs!

ok flame away!!!! but I was once a huge Anthrax fan.

I was at this show last night. There were some minor sound problems and John even admitted that he was having problems singing, but they still sounded great. The band was tight and rocked the place, however, the crowd needed some work. The pit took a while to kick in, but eventually got going. I was also at the Toronto show in August which blew this one away.
The Continental is split into two areas, the stage area and the bar area that has openings through to the stage area. Sound near the bar was good, sound in the stage area was fantastic.
Now I also see that you have been a member of this forum since July and assume that you may have taken the time to read a few posts, specifically the set lists which point out the new songs being played. They are not touring in support of a greatest hits compilation and seeing as you didn't like most of their song selection and "were" a huge Anthrax fan, it would be interesting to hear your take on what else they should have played.
Thankfully the rest of the fans at the show didn't share your opinions or it would be another 7 years before Anthrax decide to come back to Buffalo.

Hey Cellar! I feel terribly sorry for you...(NOT!) you must have been thinking of some other band, some other place, but if you were really talking about Anthrax, then you are not welcome on this board anymore! If you really think that honest musicians like Anthrax are going to go through there career without evolving creatively, then you are sadly mistaken.
