I have to say that without Elvis,no Beatles, without Beatles, No Sabbath, without Sabbath, No Kiss, without Kiss ....nO tHRAX!
God bless john,Paul, and George........Oh! and Ringo.

Elvis, to me, is much less accessible than the Beatles. Some tunes, "Suspicious Minds," "Promised Land," "Always on my Mind," are tunes I keep within reach at all times, but I'm much more a Beatles man. But yes, it all goes back to Elvis.

It just pisses me off when I think about what I spend every month and I won't have anything to show for it. We need to get a house, especially considering we're planning on another little one in the not too distant future (that's what you guys need, a pregnant bRaT on the board LMAO). But I'm not paying $150K+ for a brand new house with no fucking yard, so that right there limits my market. And our new lease goes until next June, so it's gonna be at least a year before we get anything done.

As for my sister, she didn't stay home til 26 cause she was broke or waiting to buy a house. In fact, she was loaded almost the entire time. (She's back there now after her car accident though :( ) It was because she had an extremely hard time cutting the umbilical cord. If I had cooler parents, and hadn't met my husband when I was 18, I'd still be at home too. Maybe then I could have gotten college out of the way instead of trying to fit it in the rest of my life at 23-a semester here, a semester there, etc.

p.s. I fucking hate Elvis and it pisses me off that everything ends up going back to him. But I don't deny it, as much as I'd like to.

I'm lucky in that my parents are extremely cool. When I was growing up I had two rules 1) stay on the honor roll and 2) don't get arrested. So that left plenty of wiggle room. If I stayed out until 4am, no questions were asked. I never got arrested and I kept my grades up. Actually, I think my parents are worse now than when I was in high school because they now know that if i were to get arrested: BANG end of career!! Teachers can do whatever they want (we don't get drug tested) but one arrest and the local school board is pretty much done with you. So I have to watch myself. I don't get in fights or anything but if you piss off the right cop you can find yourself getting a public intox or something dumb like that, and even if you fight it and win in court, you still have a tainted name, 'cause it will be in the local paper. But Of course when I meet the next girl, ya know the "right one" I'll be done with bars. So until then (maybe by the time i'm 30) I'll be hanging out in pubs.

ps: Brat: I think our relationship is deteriorating, you don't like Elvis????

Elvis does nothing for me. I'm sure it's because my mom played him sooo much when I was little. She even told me, because he died a year before I was born, that if I had been a boy she was totally going to name me Elvis!! Ewww!! Fuck, make me a junior before you do that to me. Ick. She would have his movies on all the time, tapes, CDs (whatever was somewhat modern at the time). I'd have to hear about how "good-looking" and "handsome" he was, blah blah blah. It's all her fault. That's why even though I love the Beatles, I have this sudden urge to slap Paul silly if I ever see him on TV or in a magazine or whatever.

Shouldn't my love of Anthrax redeem me and cancel out my dislike of Elvis??

I don't like it because everyone (including my husband) spells it wrong and also all through elementary and junior high school, I was known as "Heiney." Live with that for your entire childhood, and it makes you rather cranky. (Nooooo not ME!!! LOL)

I TOLD YOU I'VE HEARD IT ALL!!!!!

Yes, I heard even more about that song because she has long brown hair and brown eyes and therefore that song was "written about me." Yay!!

Although, as far as cool songs with names in them, that's probably the coolest.

Yes, it was Mondo Bizarro. That was so long ago I bought it on TAPE!! LOL I saw them on their "Farewell Tour" in 95, although they came back and did Lollapalooza 96, which I also saw, even though they were only on for 10 minutes and then got off because a dust storm came in, and then we had to stand around for over an hour (I timed it) and then they decided to continue because it looked like the storm was either passing or waiting, but instead of putting the Ramones back on, they sent out Devo for an hour and nearly ensued a riot.    Boy was I glad when Metallica finally got their late asses out there, that much closer to going home!!!!

That Farewell tour was bittersweet. I passed seeing them on Lollapolooza, I had just seen them at the Odeon in Cleveland, and that was enough for me. Earlier in the year, I saw them "open" for White Zombie, and the trendy fucks at that show had no clue what they were witnessing when the Ramones were on, so I figured Lollapalooza would be the same shit. I saw the Ramones about 3 or 4 times over the years. GREAT, GREAT band. RIP Joey.
