Antithesis!!!!

Seriously? I wouldn't have picked it, with lyrics like this:

Acts of dissension, malicious intent
As long as you get what you're after
You have no fear of retaliation
Here in the now or here after
I am but one of those you have hurt
All that I hear is your laughter

and lyrics like this:

I know you better than you think
I know a lot about your past
And why you wear a mask

You may deceive with your disguise
And you may buy yourself some time
Until the end of time

To yourself, your reflection tells a lie
Look inside, there's a dark side that you hide

It's all very Schuldier-ish. Plus the album cover:

*shrug*

The music rules, and the lyrics aren't preachy at all... So i can deal with the fact that these rockin' dudes waste their sundays :)

not such a shocker if you have ever read the bible beyond the Acts of the Apostles. The Book of Revalation is full of apocalyptic fury and symbolism...and the Old Testament has got so much blood and gore, its not even funny.

Yeah, i studied the catholicism and the many christian myths for two years... I just don't see where the "Christian Band" comes into it

It's very Individual Thought Patterns from what i've read, self positive stuff, pointing out people's ills and lies, it's not like they're saying "Follow me to church" or something

what I got out of the above quotes is pointing out how people can live depraved lives behind a respectable mask, but they will be unveiled for what they are.

That's what i call a "Schuldiner-izm". :D

Antithesis owns, but they lost Ty Cook (their singer) for some reasons

They have a new singer from kentucky who the bassist says he sounds like a midrange Geoff Tate. I havent heard him yet but i am looking forward to their new cd they are working on tenatively called Halo Noose.

If you like Antithesis you should check out a band called Enertia. Very similar in technical heavy metal

www.enertia.cc

Enertia is good, but they sound exactly like late period Flotsam and Jetsam, so if you like F&J you'll like 'em, otherwise doubtful (unless this is a different Enertia).

Archetype is made up of Christians who put positive messages in their lyrics, they don't preach Christianity in their music. It's a point often misunderstood. And yes, they are awesome, it was probably me that recommended them.
