And if so which songs and/or albums are your favorite ones? ... I'm listening to their current one, Pestapokalypse, and it kicks ass... my favorite tunes are Angel of Retribution and Sanctus Perversum.. but i love the whole album.. I also have Lucifer Incestus.. another kick ass album.. i plan to get most if not all their albums... anyways they are a very underrated band...

I heard this band a while ago and couldn't get into 'em.

But I just listened to a song of theirs on Myspace and now my opinion has changed, this shit is great. I'll have to get an album or two, or all of them :heh:

I'll probably like them a lot if I start buying their albums. I really liked the samples I've heard from the latest album, but it hasn't been a priority for internet orders, nor have I found it in stores.

Belphegor are awesome. I especially like their Goatreich - Fleshcult album.

Pestapokalypse VI was good but slightly disappointing in some regards, not to mention I strongly disliked the production on drums. If I remember, the snare drum is far too loud in the mix.

I fuckin LOVE Necrodaemon Terrorsathan! It's such a fuckin blasphemous and brutal album, it's their best easily.

I like them a great deal and agree that, at least compared to a lot out there, they are rather underrated. Then, I really like the hybrid death/black appraoch in general - a best of both worlds thing I suppose.
"Lucifer Incestus" seems to me to best represent their work overall(brilliant production!), but the newer and older stuff is also solid to me.

I love that album.

Belphegor is absolutely awesome. I look forward to seeing them live again at Wacken. Should be even more amazing!

I like them and do not understand why the get all the shit that they do. They may not be original or innovative, but they play good blackened death. I happen to like blackened death a lot in general.

Personally, I love Helmuth's vocals. They are fantastic live. They played NYC a while back and their set was a mere 25 minutes long. Krisiun got an hour... definitely should have been the other way around.

It doesn't seem like they get shit around here, but maybe that's just me. There are plenty of less original bands out there who sound absolutely terrible, so I don't see why there is so much Belphegor hate, if there is truly that much...

It's probably the style that they play. Mixing black metal with death metal... you know how uptight most of us can be about that sort of thing, even if its not necessarily black or death metal that grinds our gears. The tr00 kvlt would prefer to not have their sound tainted, and so it goes back and forth with the death fans too... ("blackened death", haha, I love that term)

I just hope this kind of sound never gets saturated with a lot of stale, regurgitating bands.
