Any Fans of Borknagar/Spiral Architect...???

The Olden Domain is one of the greatest releases of northern darkness ever. All the rest of the releases have been good but that album was amazing. Quintessesnse would be my #2 with some great vocals by Simen Vortex. As much as I like Vintersorg the band I dont really care too much for him in Borknagar, the band sounds too much like Vintersorg cause hes voice is very unique. Origin was ok, kind of weak, I hope they put something together still in the future but Borknagar seems at the end of their road since updates from the band come to us once every blue moon.

so im a borknagar noob and im going to ask for a couple of their cd's from my girlfriend's parents to get me for x-mas. im dead set on the old domain, but whenever i preview the other cds i just cant seem to find one that im passionate about asking for. *sigh* somebody help me.

on another note on the same topic, could you guys recommend me some good black metal?etc. albums that are on the vein of old domain from other artsis. keep in mind these cds have to be purchased from amazon/overstock/etc. thanks. ive listened to windir, moonsorrow, and i just dont feel much towards those 2 bands, so please help.

Spiral Architect is actually a lot less self-indulgent and self-conscious than Opeth. Awesome band.

Enslaved and Arcturus are the first to come to mind.
