The holidays are coming soon, and I was wondering if Theocracy is going to be releasing any new Christmas songs to follow up the great ones that were released a couple years ago. I sure hope so :p

Old ones for anyone interested:
(If Matt or anyone else associated with the band or label wants these links removed just let me know)

I think they like too keep this christmast-stuff secret. I think there will be a song this year too. Wonder which one. In any case, I think it will be pure awesomeness. A theocracized xmas song is like the best xmas gift ;D

When a song literally gives me goosebumps--you know it's made an impact--touched me in ways that are unexplainable..and O Come, O Come Emmanuel has done that. is listening over and over 27 times too much???? I Love this band!!!

Theocracy Christmas 2006 is also a rather impressive medley. I love the variety of styles that it covers. Though, I will say that the "Carol of the Bells" rendition reminded me a lot of Savatage's "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" released over 10 years prior. Not sure if that was done as an homage, or if it was just "accidental". :D

I do agree that "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" is the most impactful of their Christmas Songs. I know it's the song that made me a Theocracy fan when I recently discovered it. Very, very impressive cover of a classic, but as only Theocracy could do it!

Actually, I have a quick question of interest about O Come Emmanuel, and being a new fan, I'm not sure if it was answered previously. Who's doing the female background vocal near the end of the intro? It's a VERY nice touch and great contrast to the heaviness that follows.

It'd be cool to her a little more female vox in a future Theocracy tune, perhaps even a female lead vocal playing off against one of those huge "Theocracy choir choruses". :D

... they are only available on the 2008 April Fool's joke version of Mirror of Souls :)

I'd post a link but I don't have it - anyone?

Not only would I love to see Matt do a new song this year, but I'd love to see him release a Christmas CD with all the previous songs on it. I don't care if it wasn't "professionally" produced (but come on, most bands would kill for Matt's "unpolished" recording skills). Who else would love to see this?

That's true, I think that Matt's songs with raw production values would be more polished than a lot of CD's that are released , especially under smaller labels.

That would be awesome!
I would love a christmas CD with all Theocracy's christmas songs.
If not possible, then some coverart in a complete zip-file with all songs would be very nice too!

Can't wait for this christmas!

I thought that was just Matt playing around with the sound to make it sound like a black woman.
