Any News On Necrophagist New Album?

To each and their own I guess I've seen them live and they bored the shit out of me they also had a lot of breakdowns and sounded almost hardcore.

Onset of Putrefaction has been around quite a while. I don't know when it was originally released, but it has to be 5-7 years old. It's not their fault that the metalcore scene has grown a tech-death-core limb (which is not even what Necro is) and the scene is getting overgrown.

No I'm seeing them at Northern lights lol everyone I meet online is from Rochester
And don't change your name out of In Flames their a great band that just so happened to sell out

youre going to the Rochester Necrophagist/Fetus/BTM/veil of maya I think show? I might go to that...

@tech-death in general;

sure im getting pretty bored of it now but honestly I think people aren't presenting it right. I dont see Necrophagist having solos as riffs or anything as 'wankery' I just see them using a different guitar tone and then pretty fucking awesome solos. I dont really listen to any tech death anymore, but I really think Onset is a pretty fucking good record

I think it's a combo of the overload in the tech-death-core scene and partly it has become kvlt to hate Necrophagist. I do not see them as part of that scene, but just as a techincal DM band, and a good one at that! But I do feel the second release was a step down in songwriting. Hopefully they will rectify that this next time.

Tech death isn't all bad, it's just almost all bad. Unfortunately Necrophagist is pretty bottom of the barrel. Talented musicians don't make a good "band" (said the Dream Theater fanboy).

Personally, I'm hoping they take the Cryptopsy route and finish themselves off completely.

I hope they come back and shut everyone up with a kickass metal masterpiece.

No matter how good the next album all the tr000000000000 metalheads will hate it anyways & come up with an assinine reason for why it sucks, it's completely inevitable. Once a shitty band, always a shitty band.

^Nah, I disagree. Some will start out that way, but if it's really good, respected people who don't care about the opinions of others will say what they think, and that will allow the sheeple to embrace it.

I really think they were well respected before the release of the latest. But the latest wasn't as good as the first, and the scene began to glut with tech bands, and a trend occurred.

Necrophagist are a good tech death band that have earned their cred just on the principle of technicality, nothing more. They really shine when they hit a good groove like in extreme unction. song fucking rips

I think you forgot to insert the word "always" into your first statement meaning, "Talented musicians don't always make a good band." I think you already know this, but I'm a DT and Opeth fanboy myself, so naturally I see no problem with this statement coming from a fan of those bands. The problem is, people who don't like either DT or Opeth most likely will challenge your opinion. The problem lies in the fact that unlike Necrofagist, DT and Opeth actually write great songs with a little bit (obvious understatement) of substance throw in.

As for your second statement, excuse me while I laugh. :lol::lol::lol:
