Any Znowhite or Cyclone Temple Fans?

I would have thought if I mentioned Wicked Maraya that would go over everyone's head. Then if Glenn ever mentioned them most of these people here would then break their necks to find out who WM are (put it like it is). HAHA.

They actually had a bit of a following over on the PerpMo board; a discussion started up about them one day a few years ago, and I tracked down the singer to a cover band at some Florida club. He was really happy to find out that people loved and still talked about Wicked Maraya. I heard them on a college radio station out of Batavia, of all places, back when Cycles was in release.

I have two Znowhite albums and all three Cyclone Temple albums. Two amazing bands!

I also have Wicked Maraya - Cycles, but was never able to find a copy of the Maraya discs. No Hope for Humanity did get very good reviews from what I understand. Counterculture, not so much.

HAHA why is that? Understand man O hold nothing personally against anyone. I only call things the I see it and often say what others won't or don't have the balls to. If people don't like it then that is their problem not mine. But I don't hold people's issues or problems against them. It is a goddamn forum, to many people take it way too seriously.
That being said I have no beef with any of you guys. On that note I look forward to pissing you off in the future;)
As for these bands well it is good stuff. And you are right or at least I find it strange because not many folks in this forum seem to talk about or care about bands I'm into. I would have thought if I mentioned Wicked Maraya that would go over everyone's head. Then if Glenn ever mentioned them most of these people here would then break their necks to find out who WM are (put it like it is). HAHA.

Lol, too true about the Glenn comment. I'm not the only one that's noticed that, but hey, it's his forum so it's all good.

I count WM, MC, and CT all as bigger influences than bands like Metallica from back in that era. I find it strange that you don't dig what HW do. My whole thing is that I try to take the old school stuff like those bands, run it through a more modern filter, and toss a big hook on top. You should give our new one a real chance when it comes out bro.....we're not gonna go away so you either gotta get on the bus now or continue to be annoyed at our persistence, hahahaha

For those that are like "WTF", we are making up from a flame war on another forum last year, haha

I hate therefore I am...classic! I remember finding "My Friend Lonely" at the HMV superstore in Toronto about 10 years ago, and though not on par with I hate... it was still a very good disc and the new singer was pretty good also. Awesome, criminally under-rated band

I've seen Zno White and Zeotrope back in the day. Both bands played this fest they used to have in my old neighborhood. The guys from Zeotrope used to live in my old hood, I knew Kenny Black and my brother went to grade school with Barry Stern.

Shreddy what fest was this? Was it the one at Warren park?

I only saw ZOETROPE once. It was at the Cubby Bear, opening for GBH and TOXIC REASONS!!!!!
The good old days where good underground genres could successfully mix.

I posted that Cyclone Temple - Words Are Just Words video on YouTube 4 years ago. Funny how things come around.

I Hate Therefore I Am is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED, one of the best thrash albums PERIOD!!

As we speak of Glenn in third person here; he is like the "cool" guy in the high school that all the dweeps want to be like. So what he says is gold to them I guess. HAHA This is of course no slam towards him, more power to him. Just seems to show that many can't think for themselves. No matter some are just that way.

I wish you all the luck in the world, really. As for my taste well it would seem that I would like everything if you saw my collection but honestly the older I get the more set in my ways I become. A lot of the bands championed here are obviously influenced by what I'm into but something still does not work. I think a lot of it was the time in my life attached to certain bands and styles of popular musics. Really I can't explain it.
I'm sure I'll hear the album when it comes out, everything seems to come by me at one point or another.[/QUOTE]

As for a "flame war" well I never saw it that way. Again I hold nothing against you or anyone in these forums. But what I say I stand behind and I will always call things the way I see it. And I can keep things separated; if I don't like a band doesn't mean I have problems with the players, or see issues with a show doesn't mean I hate the crew, or any other example.
If I recall my issue wasn't even about HW anyway. Never thought you guys were a terrible band, just not my thing. No need to get into any of that though.
But if you're cool I am.

I found the CD in a pawn shop about 10 years ago and I did not expect much from it. When I listened to it I was blown away by it. And I could not understand why I had never heard of it and that the band did not get more attention.
I guess it was bad timing, things were changing then and I believe that could explain that change in musical direction for the band.
I have often hear the first album compared to Crimson Glory. I can somewhat see it, may as if it were a follow up to 'Transcendence'. It certainly buries 'Astronomica'.

So true......so true........

I agree. Not a slam to Glenn at all. He has just built an army of followers who he could probably even get to listen to Jimmy Buffett!!!

Oh wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i spoke with Greg via Facebook and put the bug in his ear about a possible reissue so we shall see what happens. hopefully we can work it out. i am having the audio remastered currently for my own personal use.
