Anyone else experiencing gain issues when reamping?

When I reamp the i seem to lose my desired gain.

I'll play my guitar directly from my amp and it sounds like I want it. Yet when I reamp DI's through the same settings I lose the gain.

Anyone else have this? How do fix? (other than compensating by turning the gain up).

Well the gain is directly proportional to the input signal so I would assume that it's having less volume that what the guitar sends ?

Much like lower pick-ups vs higher pick-ups.

Just my thoughts

is there a volume on the DI ? Sorry I never used those yet.
I hope it works for you, tell us if it worked!

Yea... just turn up the track/master until it sounds like the amount of gain/distortion normally applied

Its like on a tubescreamer pedal, you can get more amp distortion by raising the level knob (without applying any pedal distortion, Gain == 0%)

What reamper and interface was used?
Maybe interface have low output, some reampers additionally reduces gain.

The Radial Pro RMP reduces gain by quite a bit stock. You can improve it by removing some resistors.
The output level of your interface also plays a part as some can provide hotter signals than others.

I use the pro rmp unit too, and yes it eats gain. Never had any issues with it though. I just turn up either the volume on the boosterpedal a bit or add some more gain on the amp. On a 6505, I still don't have to turn the gain up beyond 4.5 to get desirable recordinggain, so it's fine for me.

Btw, be careful with boosting the sendlevel, because you may be clipping your output before it hits the reamp box, and that will sound a lot worse than turning up the gain on the amp a bit. Think about your gainstages. The output of your signal is (probably) not what is too weak; the reamp box that comes after it is. To compensate for this, you have to either change the reamp box, or boost the signal back to normal levels after it.

I have a ProRMP.. Same thing. I just push it a little harder from the DAW... Seems fine to me, as long as it SOUNDS right from the amp, I'm happy :)

I had the same problem with my DAV re-amp box, removed a couple resistors and it's got plenty more gain (albeit with more noise).

I had the same problem with radial xamp. Never enough output from it. But i guess a booster after the reamp box should do the trick.
Edit: i have been using an adapter for the x-amp power supply though (uk to eu) so matbe thats my problem?
