Anyone heard Dies Irae (from Mexico)?

How about Dies Irea from Poland?

funny how people cant seem to come up with original band names. Another example: Quo Vadis from Canada (or France?) there was a Polish band Quo Vadis in the 1980s and they played nice trash metal.

i was able to find "aeria somna" (i forget what the exact title is, and i'm too lazy to look) in my local used CD shoppe.

they're not really like opeth at all. not the greatest quality production, but pretty solid melodic death, leaning towards a bit of progressive.

they sound better live that they do on cd
they are ok
they used to be more goth/doom inclined

I ordered their last two CDs, "Ehterial," and "Naive" from Century Media.

Hopefully they're decent.

yup, its mauser, the guitarist from vader, and doc the drummer from vader... and i believe the main guy from behemoth? i could be wrong about that last one. i havent heard this yet.

There are two Dies Irae's.

The Polish band are deadly, yes very Vader-ish, but that's a compliment....

Naive is a great album! I believe it was recorded at Fredman so it sounds pretty much like the Goteburg bands, but Dies Irae do inject a lot more atmosphere then bands like In Flames. Very good musicians too!

A lot better than some of the crap coming out of Sweden these days

Wow, Naive IS a great album!

Sometimes they hang on a riff for too long, but the production and musicianship are amazing.


Their bassist has gotta be the best I've heard doing this style.
