anyone here like the cure?

Well, at least I used to. Albums like "Pornography" are classics and songs like "lets go to bed" and "caterpillar" are outstanding. But seeing them live was the best - tracks like "killing an arab" and "the forest" were mesmerizing live and the sound became so much heavier. Robert Smith was indeed a genius songwriter. But I prefer the live recordings :)

I like them. I'd have to say Disintegration is my favorite. Haven't really been that into their recent stuff though.

People say I look like Robert Smith. Probably just the fuzzy hair and the eyeliner, that's all I have in common with him really. But as a goth, I see it as a compliment.

I like the early Cure, when they were still dark and gothic. The nineties work does not move me that much.

Charlotte Sometimes is my favourite track, I have Aspergers myself and the lyrics of that song have a big autistic touch.
Sometimes I am dreaming while all the other people dance...
Charlotte sometimes dreams a wall around herself...

Very recognisable. A pal of mine once dedicated this song to me as he said it suited me perfectly, and he is damn right about that.

Other great Cure songs: A Forest, The Hanging Garden, Letter for Elise, Just Like Heaven, Killing an Arab (no, not a racist song!), Disintegration and especially Lovesong.

One Cure song I dislike: Close To Me.

The Cure were amazing back in the eighties but I don't get enthousiast about anything beyond that. Still I hope to see them live someday as they will still play the great stuff from their best days. Even the more commercial Wish album still had some very decent songs.

yeah, I'm crazy about them
and love lullaby, all I want, there is no if, the walk, the upstairs room, watching me fall, a night like this...
damn, I like all of their stuff!!

The Cure is great and I own one of their compilation releases,
Boys Don't Cry.

The Cure is amazing. I can't really say I got lost on the newer stuff...if anything it's the VERY first albums I can't really get behind.

I'll give the metal horns to Wish and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, even if they don't even come close to the metal realm.
