Anyone listen to Amoral?

It might be just me but to me those growls sound just like any 14-year-old metalhead trying to growl to his favourite tunes. Kinda like an angry rodent.

Amoral is dead to me now.

Quite a harsh statement, but I have to agree. I'm not usually the one to say shit like this, but after getting this pompous teenage idol as their new frontman, the band has zero credibility in my eyes.

Yes it it harsh statement, but true. R.I.P

Ooooooh shit. Their new single is up:

It's a rare occasion that one gets to witness such a drastic change in a band's style. I'm not even disappointed, I'm utterly amused. The song sounds just like Koivunen's solo material, which represents exactly what metal music has slowly come to: popular, conservative. safe, just something you can whistle to while listening to the radio in the mall. Well, that's one band less for me to dig :/

Yeah, I wouldn't like the song no matter who was singing :Puke: When the modulation part came, the cheese completely overwhelmed me, and I had to switch it off. If they went for that 80's vibe, they could've at least done it properly, not this bland.

I still want to hear the rest though. I didn't really care about Amoral before, but now they became sort of interesting, as it's so funny to see how people react

Though now that I'm listening to this with proper speakers (listened to it first at work with laptop speakers) I noticed that there's still some cool rhythm guitar riffage and drumming. Sadly they don't really save anything.

Notice how high the vocals are mixed? I mean it might be a "radio edit" or rough mix or something but to me, Amoral have always been a great guitar based band and all of a sudden they've got this "famous" vocalist and the mix is all about the vocals.

RIP Amoral. Finished with Reptile Ride.

Exactly. That's sad, since as you said, Amoral was always guitar-driven and aggressive music.
