Anyone made a Children Of Bodom/Melodic DM style tone yet?

Just checking in.. I figured there are some really good settings out there that I may over look.

I was just listening to Children of Bodom and although his tone isn't that great.. It's fun to hear.. I was wondering if anyone had done anything along those lines yet.. I wanna hear!

I like the rhythm tone in the song Downfall. Very very punchy and tight. :-s Did any studio trick apply to achieve that awesome palm muting sound of the first riff of Downfall? :-s In the live situation, Alexi didn't reproduce that tightness. :-s

Sounds like just a good rhythm tone, no special tricks really. Obviously a good performance is key, and it probably doesn't help that half the time they play live they're wasted.

I also like the bass response of SS Poweramp. I feel it's very powerful and tight. Now I'm tired with very fat, warm sound +_+ Something that's unique, tight is what I want to hear. Pantera rhythm tone always be my favourite.

In all fairness blood/alcohol levels didn't slow down pantera!
