I've got something like, 2 albums (just counting the stuff im talking about here!) of stuff written... Its all 100% mine, its all in one style and its melodic death/thrash metal. Cant pin it down as sounding like anyone in particular... its just heavy metal jam packed with riffs and shredding! (I listen to pretty much anything and everything btw). I count 11 songs of pure fucking mayhem for album 1
I can not and will not be able to (even if my sisters pet bunny rabbits life depended on it) get the musicians in my shitty little pretend-city-town to play this stuff and I've already been through drummers and bassists who fell apart trying to play it so if theres anyone who can record their own parts/DI's interested in joining me in this over the net then lets fuckin' rock
For the record, I am SO getting fucking bored of the way I'm doing this at the minute...
1) I am totally going off simulated amps (at least most the soft/hardware ones I've heard so far).
2) I am not good enough on bass to track the bass parts to a high standard (and my bass guitar aint that great anyway) because tbh I dont practice playing bass (im a guitarist duh!) so yes I would appreciate someone playing bass .
3) I'd like some decent drum tracks to work with and to be honest I'd love to hear a shit-hot drummer play this stuff well for the first time ever .
4) I think it sounds more sterile with just my style on every guitar track . Tracking rhythm/etc. sure whatever but there is a lot of lead in there too and I already have at least 1 solo per song.
5) There are way better vocalists out there than me and again I'd like to hear some shit-hot vocals on this for the first time ever rather than my last vocalists attempt at mixing randy blythe with chester bennington .
So yup, I'm after drummers, guitarists, bassists, vocalists, the whole works...
I do clean vocals and I sing pretty well, can sing pretty tight harmony and there are bits of that in the song. I can also do backing growls but I dont have the endurance to get through scream/growling a full song of this though .
Im starting uploading midi files of the songs in literally the next few seconds and ill post the dropbox links as I go. I've written all this stuff right down to the drum and bass lines and I only know 2 fills . Also I had to strip out a lot of blast sections/crazy fast riffs/general intense stuff to accomodate past band members (which pissed me off) so I'd be up for maybe re-heavying them in some parts. Creative input more than welcome as long as it sounds cool
Im converting my flat into a home studio with an iso/vocal booth so I can pretty much record anything to do with my guitars/backing/clean vocals/DI's/whatever and convert them to .wav. I track guitars/DI's to a digital 32 track console and im going to have a pretty decent DAW setup once I get my ass round to sorting it out. I have a pod too but I'd rather use real amps "k thnx" .
I can mix this stuff myself and do all the editing and replacement and boring, tedious stuff. My setup is thusly:
- Korg 32 Track Recorder
- Pentium 2.80
- Bose 301 Series IV Moniters
- Assorted amps, guitars, stuff, etc....
It shall be evolving subtantially between now and the near future...
Heres the preview tracks. I know midi sounds shit but imagine how it sounds with real guitars mmmkay? And yes I know they've got stupid titles... I did say artistic input welcome mmmkay? :uh-huh: Good.
***UPDATE - WE ARE NOW STARTING TO DECIDE WHO IS PLAYING ON THE TRACKS ***
Guitar 1 / Clean Vox - Meeee
Guitar 2 / Programming - Vit
