Apprection of Amon Amarth + a question

First I have to say that the whole discography of Amon Amarth is really blazing, but the Twilight of the Thunder God simply its crown in my opinion.

There are no single tracks on this album: the whole album is one single row to listen and all songs just flows together. The lyrics, the guitars, the drums, the voice I would say it's one of the most perfect viking-themed death metal bands.

So keep the good work! Hopefully soonly there will be other similar albums.

My question is, can anyone recommend some albums from other bands which is similar to AA's Twilight? The thick growls, the melodic thrashing guitars the double bass drums and all the diamonds like this AA album.

Well, they don't write about vikings and whatnot, but you ought to look into Hypocrisy. You would probably like their newer stuff a lot. Like the albums The Arrival and Catch 22.

I don't see any similarities between the two.

I was just alluding to the catchy melodic riffs and the drum work really. Both Hypocrisy and Amon Amarth are a staple in the melodic death metal scene, despite their differences.

actually amon amarth are unique in their particular catagory, melodic death metal. a lot of great bands aound. my favourite other been dark tranquillity.
