Just listened to "Despicable heroes" and i just think Arch Enemy is deathish nu-metal or the swedish version of nu-metal

melodic death is boring

with the exception of Dissection

Not really nu-metal,but the album does lack everything. Oh well,this discussions been debated to death.
Melodic "death" metal is not boring when it's done by bands who can evolve like Dark Tranquillity. Pretty much the only hope as far as the Gothenburg bands are concerned.

I wouldn't call the new Arch Enemy nu-metal, but it does show an obvious lack of direction and an abundance of contrived song structures...

everything arch enemy have ever done is fucking great..... but anthems of rebellion is shit.

get the album burning bridges or black earth or stigmata... wages of sin is alright but angela sucks compared to johan.

nah i prefer angela over johan
i mean burning bridges is a mad album (silverwing, dead inside, pilgrim \m/)
but angela has more power than johan

I prefer Angela over Johan too! But AE with Johan is much better. The music kicks my arse. Sure, Anthems is disappointing, but check out (as Paragon pointed out) Black Earth, Stigmata and Burning Bridges.
