La Masquerade Infernale
The last album was disappointing and The Sham Mirrors is good but really pretty straightforward and the same goes for Aspera Hiems Symfonia. La Masquerade Infernale is what got the band their reputation as avant garde black metal (though there's hardly anything black metal about that album) and most of their other output is pretty straight forward and much less memorable really.

Agreed. It took me a long time to appreciate this album. The Sham Mirrors is a close rival in terms of overall quality though.

I've only heard the first two but Aspera Hiems Symphonia is the better of the two. Get it, make sure it's the two disc version though.
