Arcturus fans?

Anyone here a fan of Arcturus? I've been listening to some MP3's from their album "La Masquerade Infernale" (as far as I know it hasn't been released outside Europe) and I've got to say that I really like their style. Really symphonic and majestic, with a dark edge. Very different to anything I've heard before. Anyone else into them?

yep,I am madly in love with arcturus,for many years....
I have once voted "La Masquerade infernale" as the best album of the 90's and still haven't regreted my choice.....

i have listened to artcurus stuff so many times in my life and still get this magic.... this excitement.... :hotjump:

Arcturus rocks my spacey world

Not too fussed on 'Disguised Masters', though experimentation is good.
'La Masquerade Infernale' is brilliant and epic, especially 'Ad Astra'. The album has a good mix of styles, like Opeth

'Aspera Hiems Symphonia' is just that, symphonic hymns. The keyboards on the album are trip-inducing, especially 'Fall Of Man'. I liken the album a little to Covenant's (The Kovenant's) Nexus Polaris album, with a space-metal type influence.

Reconstellation is ok, but I heard the newer versions of the tracks first, so it seems a slightly lower quality.

Can't wait for the new album!!!

Whooo, yeah, Arcturus rocks, as does everything Hellhammer is involved with (except for Mayhem... they are totally horrible except for the drum parts ).

La Masquerade Infernale has some really great lyrics and the music can't be compared to anything I know of. Some of the lyrics certainly speak out to me, which must be one of the reasons I fell in love with the album in the first place.

Arcturus rules, Garm has got a bloody great voice (and there's also the Hellhammer-worship factor ).

In regards to the new cd, this is from the Jester Records site (Garms label):

Not exactly JESTER news but we are under the impression that there are quite a few of you who would like to be informed that Arcturus have sworn on their mothers graves to have their long-awaited third album ready for the MIDEM festival (www.midem.com) which starts 15th January 2002. This means that their album, tentatively titled "The Sham Mirrors" will be manufactured, promoted and released shortly thereafter, presumably mid-March, 1st of April or thereabouts. Label? AD ASTRA Records of course...

I live about as far away from Europe as is possible, and 'Masquerade' turned up in a couple of my local shops (mainstream ones, too!) when it was released, so I think it's widly available.

First song I heard was Chaos Path, and I loved it...his vocals are completely unique...I can't even begin to emulate them and nobody else can, either...
