Are Diamondhead any good?

Yes, they are very good indeed, try to get their earlier work though, later on is so so ... I was really disappointed when the "canterbury" album was released...

Good stuff! It may take you a couple listens to get used to their sound since you've heard the Metallica versions so many times..... but they a very worth checking out. "Borrowed Time" is also a good album.

The first album is definately worth checking out! Get the Sanctuary reissue with the Diamond Lights EP (I think it is) as bonus tracks.

They started off strong but fell off quickly. Their first album's about all you need. Their comeback (Death & Progress) was pretty weak too.

"Lightning To The Nations" is a major kick ass album. Glory of NWOBHM and metal in general, for years I put it aside. Got it some months ago in a beautiful edition with a nice booklet and a jewel case in a well crafted sleeve.
This edition contains the debut album in its entirity plus songs from "Diamond Lights" and "Four Cuts".

@ Sixx: You look nice in that pic :D

and never watch diamond head live (without harris) when you're expecting a good show

Hi
Well I reckon they were allright. They had some killer tunes for the time, but personally I couldn't stand it when they got all bluesy. 'Don't You Ever Leave Me Baby' or whatever it's called was awful. I actually quite like Canterbury - but it is not Metal at all, it's very good adult-guitar-pop is what is. 'Out of Phase' is a great song.
