Are these guitar / DI tracks useful enough?

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to recording and we're trying to lay down some guitar tracks / DI's for mixing / mastering.

I'd like to hear your guys input on three things:

1. This is my first attempt at recording, a quad tracked 5150, SM57. Any comments, tips?

2. This is an ENGL Powerball, mic'd with a Sennheiser E606 and the according DI track. Is the Powerball track okay for a mix? Is the DI good enough for reamping? Please bear in mind that the same track will be recorded using the 5150 you can hear in the sample above as well and will be used in a full mix.

I would really, really appreciate your input.

1. So sick of Holy Diver, sounds okay, but a full mix by you would give us a lot more to comment on.
2. Powerball track doesn't sound good. However the DI seems fine for reamping and all!

keep on keeping on

Lol, every time I hear a DI squealie I just bust up laughing.....who would think that one of the coolest sounds in metal would sound so ridiculous without an amp.

That aside, I have to agree that the Powerball track doesn't sound that great. The DI sounds just fine though and my honest opinion is you'll get a lot better results having that professionally re-amped.

Look forward to a full mix. Good luck!
