Ok, so post links to your favorite local bands from wherever the fuck you're from, or from a city within reasonable proximity to whatever hick town you're in. How hip are you?

Red Between Lines - My friend's band, extreme technical death/hardcore, seriously sick stuff.

Curse The Form - My guitarist's other band, melodeath/technical hardcore with keyboards and everyone's favorite sexy rock chick bassist Frances.

Blessed Agony - My former band, progressive black/death with crazy evil solos from Lord Bryan Agony and wicked drumgrind from Dave.

I said be "creative", not "mind-shatteringly crap".

My friend (I hate him) is in a pop-punk band called "Process of Elimination" because it's the process by which they found their name. Oh, if only their music was that clever.

Some dude I know has an NWOBHM-derived band called Harbinger. And then there's Sauron of course. Detroit doesn't have much else.

I'm not really into the metal scene here, I don't actually think there is one.

I know a few of the guys who played in a band called Mitosis last year, but they broke up.

It wasn't a bad band, but the lyrics were absolute shit.

Stained Windows

Open up your eyes and look as far as you can fucking see,
Open up your mouth and tell me

Blood stains the windows from your way out of this world,
Your life is taken,
thrown away now in a room of loneliness as the cut gets deeper

Don't ask you know what they fucking are,x3
Don't pretend like your my friend

Take me from life [get the razor]
Take me from life [put it to the wrist]
Take me from life [push down and bleed]
Take me from this I want to go

Hahaha, you know Mitosis eh? Fuck it's a small world.

There's a few bands a bit south of here, namely Astriaal, Portal, Carbon, Forn Valdyrheim and Misery. Just moved here though so havent made it to any gigs yet.

Isn't The Chasm from Mexico or did they relocate?

In Phoenix here the best local band is my friend Jon's band Vehemence who got signed a few years back and released 2 albums on Metal Blade already. They're totally fucking killer, you've probably heard them, and if you haven't, then maybe you should.

The only other good local band is Inducing Terror, my friend Jay's band (Jay is black). They're unsigned but they're better than fucking Dying Fetus.

The worst local band in Phoenix is fucking Motive... the singer, Steve, is a fucking retard who thinks he's all like awesome and they sound like Metallica wannabes. He makes fun of me at shows for wearing death metal shirts and everyone in the scene down here really hates his band and no one goes to their shows.

Sleep Terror fucking own!

4 Dead, Mydraal, Darkim (as mentioned above) and then Alchemist, Armoured Angel, Pod People (really fucking weird), Reign Of Terror... and no doubt some others.

Mr. Pierre, meet Mr. Best Death Metal Band From The United States In A While:

You sent me their music. The music is merely average blasturbation DM (BEEN DONE A MILLION TIMES BEFORE) with some REALLY shitty, even lazy sounding guitar work at some places where they couldn't seem to find anything else to fill the song, and the vocalist sounds like he's whispering me a lullabye. :Smug:

Now, you may counter that NWOBHM and Thrash like Sauron has been done a million times before, but the bands from here perform it with some serious spirit and some great original material. Not trying too hard, not so forced.

Columbus' metal scene has very few bands worth mentioning...actually none at all, until my band gets started.

If you sound anything like what I see in your avatar, you have my support. ;)
