Looks like yet another opportunity to see this insanely talented band again in May! Ol'J-Dub might even be making a roadtrip to see a show or two.
These guys are incredible live! If you're near any of these cities, I urge you to go check them out. Jaws will drop, and faces will be melted......These dudes are THAT good!

From the promoters:

Supergroup. That's a moniker rightly applied to The Aristocrats featuring three bona fide virtuosos. http://www.the-aristocrats-band.com/

Who does Steve Vai call when he needs a touring bass player? That would be none other than Bryan Beller, the long time Mike Keneally bandmate and contributing editor to Bass Player. But Beller's credits don't stop there. Aside from stints with Dweezil Zappa he's also the bass monster behind Dethklok, the tongue-in-cheek extreme metal band born of the hit Cartoon Network "Adult Swim" show Metalacalypse.

Guthrie Govan won "Guitarist of the Year" in the 1993 Guitarist magazine competition with his instrumental piece Wonderful Slippery Thing. He's been a contributing editor to Guitar Techniques ever since and teaches at Brighton Institute of Modern Music in the UK. Govan recorded two albums and toured as a part of Asia from 2003 to 2006 and has remained in high demand world-wide conducting clinics for Suhr guitars. His 2006 album, Erotic Cakes, set the guitar playing world on its ear showcasing Govan's complete mastery of the guitar. In July 2011, he graced the cover of Guitar Player Magazine.

Marco Minnemann is considered one of the world's top ten drummers by the music press which has featured him on the covers of drums & percussion,(Gr) Stick It, (US) Batteur, (Fr) Bateristas, (Arg) and Modern Drummer (US). He has toured and recorded with Mike Keneally, Paul Gilbert, Adrian Belew, and Nina Hagen aside from appearances at drum festivals the world over. He is looked upon by his peers as one of the most gifted, innovative, cutting-edge drummers on the international music scene today.

I couldn't think of a better trio of musicians, J-Dub! I wanted to see these guys last October when they came to Martyr's in Chicago, but I was confused by a buddy of mine and missed out at the last minute. He just kept telling me that Guthrie Govan was coming to Martyr's at the time, so I kept looking at the ads in the local music magazine's for a listing for his name. I kept seeing the name "The Aristocrats," but I had no clue that Guthrie was a part of the group, and the advertisers for Martyr's failed to mention who was in the group until the week of the show. By then, I had already committed to seeing both Dream Theater and Firewind, so my finances for the month were completely blown. I wish they were coming closer to Chicago this time, as I can't afford any more road trips outside of the Pathfinder Fest and ProgPower this year. Here's to hoping that they add some more dates!

Stay metal (or crazy hybrid jazz-blues-rock in this case!)
