So, this cd comes across my desk, courtesy of Osmose Productions, and not knowing anything about this band, my virgin ears take a listen. How in the hell have I never heard of this band before? Coming off like some bastard child from an orgy of IMPALED NAZARENE, AKERCOCKE and NILE or something equally pummeling, ARKHON INFAUSTUS blaze through these 8 tracks like they're ushering in the apocalypse. Unfortunately, this is a cardboard sleeve promo, so I found myself visiting their website to get a better understanding of what they are about. I urge anyone curious to do the same as this band is perverse, satanic, evil, pornographic and so much more! Be sure and check out the interviews section as they delve into their lyrical subjects and philosophies, which are very interesting. I'll leave it at that...

Back to the Filth Catalyst, "Words Of Flesh" opens up wide, blasting, grinding and taking no prisoners. New drummer A.ZK6 effortlessly shifts the malevolence from one way to the next, complimenting the riffs and growls to no end. The counterbalance of guitarist D.Deviant's death vocals and bassist 666 Torturer's black vocals works very well throughout. Naming a specific track in this case would be pointless, as they are all delivered effectively. Standout tracks as a whole would include "Criminal Deities," with its seriously raging guitars, "The Fifth Inquisitor," which features some excellent BOLT THROWER styled riffs before dropping into an all out assault in the vein of NILE, and "Nox Microcomica," whose riffage at the end I especially like.

Again, where in hell (literally) has this French quartet been hiding out?
