as expected it's a big mess, but not because it's alpha, his game series was always a mess...still kinda fun.

multiplayer is basically about runing around and getting shot,
most of the time by your own team members...but well...still kinda fun

I need to get in on this, I own Arma II and all the DLC. I've given them enough money to deserve a go at the alpha.

I think this is the worst-running game I've ever tried on this computer, and that includes all editions of Crysis. My hardware is quite good, so I have no idea how they expect the majority of people to play it.

ARMA is not aimed at that majority.

Most ARMA players are enthusiasts who will build their uber computers especially for that one game and then play it for the next few years until the next ARMA game comes out.

It is not like with Crysis games which you can play through in less than 1 day and then put on a shelf to collect dust.

How's that possible? I've got an i7 running at 3.8ghz and a GTX 680. The game runs terribly.

I have no idea it works good. I'm running most things on standard/normal and my monitor only does 1140x900. i would record a vid, but trying to do hd vid while playing kills frame rate.

bring your view distance down, that seems to make the biggest difference.

hmm, i can't see any difference to ARMA and ARMA II.
kinda strange but these games always had the same
performance on my machine.

i rather prefer view distance to overall fancy graphics,
so i always disable AA and stuff.

i'd be happy if i could agree with you but unfortunately it's the same old annoying stuff that has been presend in every bohemia game so far.
the worst thing is the netcode which makes online playing basically impossible.

i recently spend more than four hours on different servers where i could not shoot any enemy.
i did hit them obviously but the game seems not to recognize the hits, so basically every enemy was invincible, no fun at all.
