I agree. I don't think the Californians are stupid for voting for him either. Just because he is an actor rather than a politician doesn't mean he can't do the job as well.... in fact it probably means he will do it better. It's probably a very good thing to have a non-politician running the state! Politicians are fucked.

I still find it amazing that the American public, (well, part of it) will vote someone into public office on the basis of his no-nonsense, take no shit, kick-ass movie characters........no-one knows much about the man himself.
Incidentally, all I know is that he was involved in some kind of land deal not long after he arrived in America that crashed big time........having said that though, and talking to a few Yanks on another site, the feeling is he couldn't do much worse than Gray Davis - and a fresh face/approach is definitely good sometimes.
One thing though - he better not fuck up, cos he, and the state of California will have HEAPS of publicity..........

How long do you think it will be before he is President? I know the US has something in the constitution that says you must be born in the US to be the President, but the constituions been changed before...

In 'Demolition Man' they tell Sly that the Constitution was changed to allow him to be President. I don't think Schwarzenegger would be a serious candidate for the Presidency. State governor is one thing. President is something else. Just ask GW Bush.

Arnie is a lot smarter than George though, plus he has a shitload of his own money, so I dont see why he couldnt do it (besides the constituion thing of course)!
