Artifical feedback?

i get feedback all the time when scratch tracking with a POD... i just stand up and face one of my monitors... works fine.

If you record direct, and through headphones or extremely low volume like me (living in an apartment)...try the home made sustainiac like I described above. It works like a charm, at low volume levels. I've been doing this technique for well over 10 years. I'm giving you gold here people. ;)

How about an Ebow? I love mine. I don't think it would be worth the money just for feedback effects (which it does insanely well) but for just weird leads and as a crutch to help you out of writer's block it's friggin priceless. I'm guessing the homemade sustainer thing might be able to achieve the same results though? I dunno.

this is exactly what i do and it seems to work great everytime. plug direct in and get pretty darn close to the monitor and crank it....

.....and feedback! just be sure to record it. I usually do a feedback track and then paste it where there is supposed to be feedback in the song such as intros and fades.

I've tested the Feedback plugin from Softube.
It's awful.

Listen to this, it is closer to a whale in the mating time than a real feedback.
Is recorded with Pod+Impulse+Acoustic Feedback Plugin.

Haha, that's way funny sounding! That part at the end sounds like a ghost humming along with the lead! Anyway, did you put the feedback plug-in after the impulse? If so, I'm curious what the difference would be if you put the feedback before the impulse.
