At The Gates Cover

Plague Rider!!

Thanks a lot man!!

Answering to Overdosed, here I will post the process that I have done with the guitars.

Firts, I have taken the signal of the Line Out of the amp, Krank Rev+

Second: I have put an IR

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4750104/Krank Preamp + IR.mp3

Third: I have processed the final signal, in a stereo bus, with all guitar tracks, with:

De-esser > Waves VQ4 > Waves VQ4 > PSP Vintage Warmer

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4750104/Krank Final.mp3

and is all for the guitar chain! put the volume in the mix and nothing more :)

Cheeeeeers!

Tris

The snare is definitely alot better, but now

a) imo, it sounds like a small cut in the low mids should make it even better
b) the kick has a seems a little overwhelmed

Dude, that guitar-sound is awesome! Very raw and mean!
I read, you had Vintage Warmer in your chain ... would you mind, giving some info on your settings or a screenshot? Never thought about using VintageWarmer on guitar-tracks, but - judging by your clip - VW could bring out a bit more "rawness".

dude your previous mix was the money. The snare was just in the right place. This seems a little too synthetic now that you've brought the snare out of its normal element of the entire kit. really bad ass cover though and this is some of the rawest sounding recordings i have heard on this forum.

oh stupid question, distortion duuuhhh

Sorry about the trouble answering my dumb question lol

But whats up with the De-esser? You use it to remove some hiss or what?
I never saw anyone using de-esser on guitars hmmmm

Great work :headbang:

Hey!!

Kramer!, yes, I agree with you, thanks a lot for your fucking awesome answer, you rule man!!, :)

JoeJackson, yes!! VW can fatten up your guitars a lot :) it´s fine for me in the chain. I will post the settings tomorrow, now I´m going to work, fuck!!

Rino, thanks a lot for your answer!!, for the next time I will try to get other tones, thank you.

MetalAaron, thanks man :)

Overdosed, yes, the de-esser is for removing some hiss and fizzy sound from the guitars, without EQ in this region, I need the high freq. but not to cut all in this area. Works well for me :)

Ok, the new mix here, let me know what you think guys, argggghh:

Dude... congrats...

My 18-month old son just came in the room when i was listening to the second mix and started headbanging (or as close to headbanging as an 18-month old kid can do)

thats a win in my eyes...

Plague Rider!!, hahahaha Nice!!, This is the future of the fucking death metal !!, take care of it!!, thanks man!!

Thanksssssssssssssssssssssss

Tris.

Fucking awesome tone.
Very tight playing, really liked.

Is that quad tracked??? Could you drop me a line about how did you paned the guitars? Have you used the stereo IR or mono?

Saludos desde Canarias maquina :headbang:
MAnuel.

I think the guitars sound better on 5 but now its a matter of opinions..

The bass drum is better but still not there. But i think it may be a challenge to get the bass drum sounding as thick as i imagine because the lows are already quite occupied..

so, all in all, loving it.. \m/

Manuel !! Gracias tio!!

The guitars is quadtracking and are panned:

Gtr 1 - 100%
Gtr 2 - 100%
Gtr 3 - 80%
Gtr 4 - 80%

and the IR in mono, tracks in mono, all in mono. No Stereo wind plugs or something like that, only the process that I have mentioned in previous post :)

i hope that help to you Manuel and thanks for you opinion!

Kramer!!, thanks a lot for your answer, ummm new things to chage again hehehe, I will to try :)

cheers

Tris.

Awesome. The tone really kills for that type of metal - I wonder what it sounds like for some Chugga-Chugga-Chords.

Personally, I like the first mix the best, but have to listen again at home - right now, I only have a headset here.
