at the punk rock show yesterday in brooklyn

that i attended as a conscientious objector, a kid with parachute pants and giant headphones asked if i was one of the committee that ran/owned the jewish temple it was held in.

also, a 19 year old merchandisestress invited me to a party in virginia.

the coolest band there featured a brutal, crutch-bound (crippled?) vocalist who barked out the line "IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH ABOR-SHEEEOOONNN THEN DON'T FUCKING HAVE ONNNNNE"

the fire dept entered toward the end and looked pissed. they kept pointing at the sign on the wall that said max occupancy: 175. there were probably 300 kids in there.

so the last band, who i gathered were also part of the show booking team, played for 15 minutes and i was so happy that i got to leave earlier than expected. their set was liberally peppered with "FUCK RULES, FUCK THE COPS, FUCK THE FIRE DEPT"

but they got me with the line "this is a new song... it's about 9-11... it is called SUPER TUESDAY"

and on the way to the W line i observed a drunk 12 year old with an afro get helped along the sidewalk by a GIANT 16 year old with a bigger afro

sadly, more than half the bands were that peculiar brand of punk besieged by ska

to be frank - i saw one 18 year old who was wearing a skirt and legwarmers and i have to say it was hot. i saw another but it didn't quite work for her.
