At what age did Loomis start playing guitar?

We've all heard the Loomis demo when he was 16. IMO he was almost as good then as he is now. So when did he start playing to be that good at 16?

I'm Jeff's age and didn't even start playing myself until 17, so I have lots of catching up to do

Y'know, I reckon Jeff is as good as he is because when he was the age I was when I started (18, 6 yeras ago) Jeff was playing guitar and not posting on message boards about how people get/got so good at guitar.
